Name: Alive at 25: A Driver Awareness for Youth
Date: June 18, 2011
Time: 10:00 AM - 2:30 PM MDT
Event Description:
Because drivers ages 15-20 are involved in fatal crashes at more than twice the rate of all other drivers combined, the Wyoming Highway Patrol is sending Troopers to Powell to teach this driver awareness program. Alive at 25 directly addresses the most common causes of crashes involving young drivers: speeding, impaired driving, lack of awareness of the consequences of risk-taking behavior, inexperience with the complexities of driving, and distractions and pressure from peers in the vehicle. This is a survival course designed to teach young drivers to take responsibility for their behavior. It is the only course of its kind taught exclusively by law enforcement officers.

All instruction occurs in a classroom setting and students do not need to own a driver?s permit or license to attend. The highly interactive 4.5-hour class will be offered free of charge to participants between the ages of 15 and 25. Pre-registration is required as enrollment will be limited. Contact Powell Valley Community Education at 307-754-6469 to reserve a seat.
