November 12, 2010
Time:
6:00 PM - 9:30 PM MST
Event Description:
Avalanches come in many shapes and sizes and have injured or killed a growing number of backcountry users over the past decade. Learning to recognize certain topographic features and snow and weather conditions that indicate dangerous sliding potential of snow causing serious avalanche conditions can be key to enjoying winter backcountry sports safely. Although this training is oriented towards snowmobiler recreationalists, basic principles can be applied for other winter backcountry users such as such as skiers, snowshoers, climbers, hikers and more. Chris McNeil is a Safety & Education Coordinator for Wyoming State Trails. Advance registration for this class is required. Call 307-754-6469 or stop by our office in the Orendorff Building, Room 119. Minimum and maximum enrollment requirements must be honored in order to put on this program
