Name: Democracy and Religion in the Middle East: Wyoming Humanities Forum
Date: October 29, 2012
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM MDT
Event Description:

Much of US Middle East policy has been driven by a discourse about democracy. The notion of establishing greater democracy in the region is usually seen as crucial to American security. The role of religion in Middle Eastern politics is  puzzling to many Americans, and the political systems are little understood. This program will help shed some light on that.

Seth Ward teaches Islamic history and religion at the University of Wyoming. He received his PhD in Near Eastern languages and literature from Yale University. This is a Wyoming Humanities Forum program from the Wyoming Humanities Council.
