Growing Up in Egypt

This program presents a young man's firsthand experience of growing up in Cairo, Egypt and relates his determined struggle to follow his passion to dance, despite deep cultural pressures to the contrary. Yasser Nabil, age 25, will present a slide show, music, and a personal oration that will open your mind and spirit. Yasser has directing, choreography and dance instruction experience and specializes in hip-hop, salsa, and modern dance. He currently lives in Powell with his wife and children and is eager to relate his story to this community.
