Event Description:
The annual Heart Mountain Pilgrimage raises awareness about President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Executive Order 9066 which authorized the military to create “military zones” in which Japanese Americans were held. The Heart Mountain Interpretive Center is on a former site of one of these “military zones.” The last train load on internees left Heart Mountain on November 10, 1945.
