We cordially invite you to join us in celebrating the Centennial of the Powell Branch Library on Thursday, August 9th from 2:00-8:00 p.m.. Celebrations include the following:
Building Fairy and Elf Houses
It’s time to be creative! Come to our Centennial from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and build your very own fairy or elf house! We will begin by reading stories together at 2:00 p.m. to inspire our imagination and then we’ll head outdoors to design your houses. Fairy and Elf house building materials will be provided. All ages welcome!
From 4:00-5:00 p.m. stop by the Fireside Room for an Ice Cream Social (served by Fairies!). Special thanks to Schwann’s, IGA, and Blair’s for providing the ice cream and toppings.
Speakers and Unveilings
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. unveilings in honor of the occasion will be made to the Powell Branch Library (this will include a Centennial quilt and framed artwork). Guest speakers will assist in the festivities and include Scott Mangold, Mayor; Frances Clymer, Park County Library System Director; Lesley Boughton, State Librarian; and Mark Spragg, Author. The celebration will conclude at 8:00 p.m..
Raffle Drawing
Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for $1each for one of three baskets of goodies (on display at the library)! Drawing to be held the evening of August 9th. You need not be present to win.
