Name: Shakespeare in the Parks' Henry IV Part I
Date: July 13, 2019
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM MDT
Event Description:
Come see Henry IV Part I at Washington Park in Powell on July 13th and The Merry Wives of Windsor at Canal Park in Cody on July 14th! Shakespeare’s coming-of-age play. While King Henry IV is burdened with escalating rebellion, his son Prince Hal has forsaken all responsibility to carouse with the drunken but fun-loving Falstaff. But Hal has to make a choice and will eventually have to prove his worth. ______________________________________________________ Rumor has it that Queen Elizabeth herself commissioned this play because she wanted to see the “fat knight in love”. In Merry Wives, Shakespeare’s lovable loser, Falstaff tries to seduce Mistress Page and Mistress Ford, but is (perhaps unsurprisingly) outsmarted by both. As always, the performance is completely FREE. Bring a picnic, a blanket, and enjoy a night of professional theatre under the Big Sky.
