Event Description:
Join the Park County firefighters, and special guest Alan K. Simpson, former firefighter and retired U.S. Senator, for a talk and readings from the book "The History of Cody's Volunteer Fire Departments" by Park County Fire Protection District #2.
The free presentation in the Coe Auditorium is followed by a book signing at our Points West Market, which will have copies of the book for sale.
About the book, from codyfirebook.com: Created in 1902 with a donation from William F. “Buffalo Bill Cody,” the Cody Volunteer Fire Department began with a hose cart that men—and sometimes horses—pulled to a fire. Today, 60 dedicated volunteers and state-of-the-art fire engines are ready to respond to emergency calls covering a 3,200 square mile.
