Event Description:
Jeff McNeish is an author and a computer programmer who has a personal interest in conducting research about the men who perished in the 1943 Smith Mine disaster in Carbon County, Montana. Eleven of his own family members perished there. McNeish's research has resulted in three books that include extensive genealogical information. This lecture will include discussions of McNeish's research methods, why he chose to research the genealogies of all 74 victims, and the impact the disaster had on the families and the larger community. Notification of intent to participate is appreciated, but not required. Please arrive early for the best seat selection. This program is provided in partnership with PVCE and the Powell Valley Genealogical Club.
