Name: Weather Spotter Training
Date: April 7, 2009
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM MDT
Event Description:
Learn about severe weather and how to identify cloud elements indicative of impending severe weather conditions. This course is taught by professionals from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). An exciting multi-media presentation helps students gain spotter skills that will assist them when identifying weather conditions that lead to severe weather like tornadoes and flash floods. Using their new skills, students will have the option to become an integral part of the National Weather Service's (NWS) warning program, providing critical decision-making observations that help meteorologists fulfill the NWS mission to protect lives and property. Call 754-6469 to express intent to attend so we know we meet the minimum attendance requirement for the program to be held. Groups welcome! This is a great program for homeschoolers, hunters, hikers, highway travelers, sportspersons, and anyone likely to get rained on.
