Do’s and Don’ts of Hiring and Firing

 

Speaker Tamara Fox is a Compliance Officer with the State of Wyoming, Department of Employment, and Labor Standards Program.  She investigates, evaluates and issues written determinations through complex case analysis and independent adjudication of federal and state violations of civil rights laws and wage and hour laws. She also provides alternative dispute resolutions with settlement authority, conducts legal research and has considerable independent discretion and judgment within statutory limits.  She advises the public, workforce centers, attorneys, employers and others concerning labor laws and unfair and illegal employment practices; alleviates the burden on the Court System through informal and formal administrative procedures to resolve violations of State and Federal antidiscrimination and wage & hour laws.  Her presentation will focus on the do’s and don’ts practices of hiring and firing employees.
